It was an honor just to be nominated . . .

Attended Capclave, the Washington Science Fiction Association's convention. "James and the Dark Grimoire" had been nominated for their annual small press award. I didn't win. The award went to “Siren Beat” by Tansy Rayner Roberts, a mini-book published by Twelfth Planet Press, edited by Alisa Krasnostein. Alisa was here, all the way from Australia, where Tansy also lives. Now I'll have to track down a copy of the story. Congrats to her.

I also got hear Lawrence M. Schoen read from his book-in-progress Buffalito Contingency. Very amusing. Look for it next Spring from Hadley Rille.

It truly is an honor. An award nomination is a big milestone!

I have to second Amy's post. Nominations are significant. This isn't an "all or none" business.

And I'm not just saying that because I've been nominated for awards and failed to win them. :)

Yes, but you did win an ipod from the school's annual fun fair. You can't win them all!
