I've taken on a third regular (twice a month, if all goes well) podcast at The Chronic Rift network. "Presenting the Transcription Feature" is devoted to the glory of Old Time Radio, the comedies, dramas, and quiz shows that ruled popular entertainment from the 1930s - '50s until television came along. PtTF has been on the Rift for years, run by John Drew. But John no longer has the time to treat it with the attention it needs, so he asked me to take it on.

I plan to cover two OTR broadcasts per podcast, and I'll be be providing a little bit of cultural annotation in order to make the more obscure jokes and references accessible.

This time out, it’s a double-shot of the BBC with two British programs. The Men from the Ministry has fun with incompetent British civil servants, and, in The Lives of Harry Lime, Orson Welles reprises his role as the criminal mastermind from the classic film thriller The Third Man.
