Thank you, Mr. Internet . . .

So, I'm reading Theater Geek, Mickey Rapkin's book about Stagedoor Manor, the summer camp that's a training ground for Broadway (good read, by the way), and I come across the statement: "There's a reason all three men who played Pseudolus on Broadway over the years won Tony Awards for it." P. is the lead in the musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. I think: Ok, Zero Mostel, obviously. He originated the role and stars in the movie version. Then Nathan Lane's career really took off when he starred in a 1990's revival, so he's won. But who was the third?

Thank you, internet. Phil Silvers. Mid-1970's. He had appeared in the film version in another role and might have originated the role on Broadway back in the 1960's were it not for his own concerns about having to wear glasses.

Thank you, internet. I wouldn't have been able to sleep otherwise.
