Washington Science Fiction Association's convention. "James and the Dark Grimoire" had been nominated for their annual small press award. I didn't win. The award went to “Siren Beat” by Tansy Rayner Roberts, a mini-book published by Twelfth Planet Press, edited by Alisa Krasnostein. Alisa was here, all the way from Australia, where Tansy also lives. Now I'll have to track down a copy of the story. Congrats to her.
I also got hear Lawrence M. Schoen read from his book-in-progress Buffalito Contingency. Very amusing. Look for it next Spring from Hadley Rille.

And I'm not just saying that because I've been nominated for awards and failed to win them. :)
