Christmas movie #2

Scrooge (aka A Christmas Carol). 1951. Alastair Sim. My favorite (non-musical) adaptation of the Dickens classic. Sim plays the "squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous old sinner" so well that he's a revelation when he just as amazingly becomes “as good a friend, as good a master, and as good a man as the good old city knew."

I'd forgotten that Hermione Baddeley is in this as Mrs. Cratchit. Only 13 years later she would be Ellen the maid in Mary Poppins. I didn't recognize her face, but I couldn't miss that voice.
